Guest Blogging on The Traveling Coder

While I started The Traveling Coder as my personal blog to talk about my round the world trip, I would love to present the opinions, experiences and advices of other travelers or expats.

The Traveling Coder is quite recent (less than a year old) so the traffic is quite low. However, I think it offers a great place to post articles about traveling and that with more contributions it could become a very interesting website with rich content.

Submitted articles must be relevant to traveling, being personal, well written and contain at least one photo (the header counts). Here are the themes the blog covers but I'm open to suggestions:

  • Stories about a unique experience or unique place
  • Stories about living abroad, moving, changing life...
  • Planning resources and tips and tricks about traveling
  • Articles about answering common travelers questions
  • Photo essays

I insist on the personal part. The article must be written by you about an experience you lived. I will not accept advertisement-like articles.

Guest articles will follow the same format as the current ones:

  • Text can contain links, photos, videos or music
  • Videos and songs must be hosted on a third party website (Youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud...)
  • Articles can link to a photo set on Flickr
  • A photo or video as header (optional, 850x350px)
  • Mini map for location based posts (optional, provide coordinates)
  • Sidebar with relevant links and small bits of info (optional)

In addition to these elements, guest posts will also have a section presenting the author with a photo, a small description and a link back to his or her website.
